Kaiserslautern
Kaiserslautern is a city located in the Rheinland-Pfalz region in southwest Germany. These photos were taken in August 2008:

The Stiftskirche (Collegiate Church) is one of the most important Gothic style churches in southwestern Germany. The Palatine Union began here in 1818 with the joining of the Lutherans and the Palatinate Reformation.



The Stiftskirche is now a Protestant church.

Distance to various cities from Kaiserslautern. Kaiserslautern has a large military community, especially American with the nearby Ramstein Air Force Base.

Other areas of interest to visit in Kaiserslautern include the Neue Pfalztheater (New Palatinate Theater), the 84 meter high Rathaus (City Hall), the only half timbered building in the city- Spinnrädl, the Theodor Zink Museum with its collection of city history, and the Japanische Garten (Japanese Garden). The city is also well known for its soccer club, FC Kaiserslautern.
